Overview
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work within and assist the commercial and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery, maintain relationships, maximize commercial returns, and manage risk.

Responsibilities
* Implement commercial strategy.
* Support the SQS & MQS commercial functions, assisting with and taking responsibility for:
* Preparing tenders, analyzing, selecting appropriate subcontractors, negotiating, and finalizing subcontract orders, along with financial and commercial management to Final Account completion.
* Site records and document control.
* Site measurement records.
* Assist in the preparation of forecasts, targets, and CVR reconciliations.
* Valuations.
* Prepare variations with adequate records and details, and agree as works progress.
* Update projected Final Account, prepare, and submit in a timely manner.
* Liaise with and commercially influence/challenge the site management team.
* Maintain and protect JSS's commercial and contractual entitlement.
* CVR - Be actively involved in and understand the process, maintaining an independent view.
* Review and consider risks and opportunities.
* Develop understanding of insurances and warranties.
* Ensure good cash management and be actively involved.
* Support tender processes as required.
* Manage and oversee AQS and TQS, checking and taking responsibility for their work.
* Maintain site records and control documents, taking some responsibility.
Experience
* Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills.
* Effectively utilize a range of technology platforms.
* Be fully conversant with the Standard Method of Measurement.
* Show ownership and commercial awareness.
* Exhibit effective time management, organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level and working toward relevant professional accreditation.
* JCT qualification.
* Strong report and letter writing skills.
* Negotiation skills.
* Experience with CVRs.
* 2-day Safety appreciation course.
* Understanding of contract and commercial principles.
* CIOB membership or certification.
