The role of a Mechanical Shift Technician is to work as part of a small team, responsible for carrying out corrective and preventative maintenance. This will involve operating the plant in line with host site requirements and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
* Perform routine duties to ensure the commercial performance, availability, and reliability of the plant are maintained to set service level agreement targets.
* Contribute to maintaining operating and safety procedures together with using and maintaining the accuracy of electronic data systems.
* Apply safe systems of work and carry out plant-related tasks such as taking on duties of Safety Controller, Designated Person, Issuer, and Acceptor roles as required.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in mechanical fitting and welding or an equivalent trade. They must also demonstrate a proven track record of working in a craft discipline for at least 5 years.

Requirements:
* Be a qualified crafts-person in Mechanical Fitting and Welding or equivalent.
* Have at least 5 years proven experience in a particular craft discipline.
* Demonstrate appropriate core skill in dismantling, assembling, alignment, and testing/re-commissioning of gearboxes, process pumps, compressors, valves, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
* Have a working knowledge of Low Voltage switchgear and distribution systems and plant instrumentation and how they interface with the mechanical plant.
* Be capable of carrying out functions of Grades 1 & 2 technicians as part of normal site activities.
* Be prepared to use (with proper training) all new technologies introduced by the company.
