St. Kilian’s Deutsche Schule Dublin is seeking, as of August 1, 2026, a teacher with experience in the Irish Primary curriculum, who, after a one‑year transition and handover period, will jointly assume the position of Head of Kindergarten and Primary School (Kindergarten and classes 1–6) together with a co‑head from the German school system starting August 1, 2027. The leadership role, in addition to teaching duties, will primarily consist of school organisational tasks requiring full‑time presence at the school.
The position includes the following areas of responsibility:
In Collaboration With The Co‑head
Personnel management
Quality management (including developing and reviewing curricula)
Preparing and leading meetings and conferences
Participation in timetable planning and teacher allocations
Involvement in school development
Involvement in recruitment procedures
Cooperation with and support for both the German‑and English‑speaking teaching staff
Communication with the wider school community
Preparation for and taking part in board meetings
Child safeguarding (oversight, reporting and training)
With Sole Responsibility
Direct communication with TUSLA and the Association of Independent Junior Schools (AIJS)
Taking part in trainings for Irish staff
Irish exemption procedures
From August 2027, the teaching load will consist of 17 lessons per week. The Head of the Primary School reports to the School Board and the German Principal of the entire school.

Requirements Profile
Qualification for teaching at the primary level
Leadership experience and/or experience in organising a primary school
Native‑level proficiency in English
Fluent German an advantage
Strong teamwork skills
Pronounced intercultural competence, empathy, and openness toward the German school system
Willingness to familiarise yourself with school management software
A high level of motivation, commitment, and enthusiasm for your work
Availability and accessibility during school holidays and before the start of the school year
