PE Global Healthcare is seeking Intellectual Disability Staff Nurses in association with our client based in Cork. This role involves the general well-being of service users in care, including physical, psychological and social aspects.
Main Duties
1. To provide care for service users in a professional manner and in line with HIQA requirements.
2. To recognize and report problems and assist in implementing programmes to counteract them.
3. To deliver daily care needs of residents in compliance with the Health Care Act 2007 (Care and support of residents in designated centres for persons (Children and Adults) with disabilities) regulations 2013.
4. To foster parental/family involvement and support parents/guardians/family members as required.
5. To create and maintain a therapeutic environment within your area, ensuring programme activities and environment relate to individual strengths and needs.
6. To incorporate expertise of any persons who enhance variety/quality of care for service users.
7. To design, implement and coordinate programmes in education, training, and work.
8. To foster integration and provide social leisure opportunities for service users within the local community.
9. To maintain records and reports, including drug administration, daily progress reports, nursing notes, and psychiatry review reports.
The Ideal Candidate
* A qualification in Nursing and Registered with An Bord Altranais is desirable.
* The ability to work on their own initiative and supervise service users/staff.
* Experience in managing behaviour which challenges.
* A full Irish/EU Driving Licence is a requirement.
