Accounts Payable Specialist Job Overview

\

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a high level of attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with precision.

\

Key Responsibilities:

\
\
1. Review and verify supplier invoices for accuracy, ensuring alignment with purchase orders and delivery notes.
\
2. Identify and investigate discrepancies or incomplete data, flagging issues that require prompt attention from internal departments and suppliers.
\
3. Liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve invoice or payment-related concerns in a timely and professional manner.
\
4. Maintain accurate records, ensuring all documentation is compliant, audit-ready, and up-to-date.
\
5. Support month-end close by preparing AP reports and reconciliations, as well as responding to supplier queries.
\
6. Perform other tasks related to accounts payable as needed.
\
7. Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
\
8. Provide excellent customer service to suppliers and internal stakeholders.
\
9. Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and industry best practices.
\
10. Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless communication and efficient workflow.
\
11. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to accounts payable.
\
12. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
\

14. Requirements:

15. Previous experience in an accounts payable role, demonstrating a strong understanding of financial systems and processes.
\
16. Technical skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and comfort working with finance systems, including automated invoice capture systems.
\
17. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

18. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
\
19. Ability to work accurately and efficiently under deadlines.

\

22. Professional certification in accounting or a related field is desirable but not required.
