Chief laboratory specialist

As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art laboratory facility.


Duties

* Drive efficient operations within the laboratory, overseeing equipment qualification, documentation generation, and review of standard operating procedures and work instructions.
* Review and lead trending and reporting of laboratory data to support batch release, maintain oversight of review metrics, and collate and analyze end-of-quarter and year reports for all raw data generated.
* Maintain and release laboratory stock, ordering necessary supplies as required.
* Participate in functional meetings, lead departmental and cross-functional meetings where needed.
* Participate in internal and external audits and inspections, ensuring permanent inspection readiness.
* Support and drive site safety and ways of working culture, demonstrating respect and appreciation for diverse populations.
* Perform supporting GMP activities and troubleshooting for general lab operations, EM, facility testing as required, and execute in-process and drug substance analysis studies, and lead/participate in laboratory projects.
* Support introduction of novel, innovative solutions, collaborating with global centers of expertise and participating in lean lab methodologies.
* Organize and establish testing schedules and adhere to deadlines.
* Build team effectiveness skills, learn to promote team success through own actions.
* Be flexible to support changing business needs, such as infrequent out-of-hours testing support for exceptional circumstances.
* Share and communicate knowledge through training other analysts and maintain timely training completion.


Education & Experience

* A degree qualification in a relevant field (Biological Sciences/Engineering), preferably with a background in microbiology; an Advanced Degree (e.g., MSc) qualification is desirable.
* 3+ years of experience working in a relevant industry field.
* Technical knowledge with biologics drug substance manufacturing and microbiological testing techniques.
