Job Title: Person in Charge
Service Type: Children’s Residential Disability Service
Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
Salary: €56,000 – €60,000 per annum
Responsibilities
The Person in Charge (PIC) will be responsible for the overall management of the Service, ensuring the highest standards of care to residents and the efficient management of staff. The PIC will:
Ensure compliance with HIQA standards and implementation of Talbot Group policies and procedures.
Report and respond to complaints in line with organisational policies.
Manage the staff team, providing mentorship, leadership, supervision, appraisals, and monthly team meetings.
Coordinate and prioritise appointments in liaison with the multi‑disciplinary team.
Ensure residents experience a high quality of life through person‑centred care plans, health promotion, reviews, and risk assessments.
Support residents in having choice and control, developing citizenship, and maintaining relationships with family, advocates, and other professionals.
Review and update care plans regularly as per regulations.
Stay abreast of current developments within the profession and maintain commitment to ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
• A QQI Level 7 Degree in Social Care or a degree in another relevant Allied Health discipline.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a management or supervisory role in the Health or Social Care sector.
• An appropriate qualification in Health or Social Care management (minimum level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications).
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
