Byrne Custom Joinery is seeking an experienced Estimator to support our growing portfolio of bespoke joinery projects. Reporting to the Senior Estimator, you will play a key role in pricing, tendering and securing high-quality projects while supporting smooth delivery to our design and production teams.
This role suits someone with strong technical knowledge of joinery and a commercial mindset who enjoys working with clients and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating and Costing
* Measure drawings, site surveys and specifications
* Produce accurate bills of quantities
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for bespoke joinery projects
* Price materials including timber, boards, glass, metalwork and stone
* Obtain and review supplier quotations
* Identify cost savings and value engineering opportunities
Tendering and Sales Support
* Prepare and submit competitive tender bids
* Review tender documents and clarify client requirements
* Liaise with clients, architects and contractors
* Support sales conversations and pricing negotiations
* Identify and develop new business opportunities
Client and Stakeholder Liaison
* Build and maintain strong client relationships
* Attend site visits and client meetings
* Provide clear and professional cost advice
* Respond to queries and pricing revisions
Project Handover and Coordination
* Ensure clear handover of approved jobs to the design team
* Provide full costing, scope and specification details
* Support smooth transition from tender to production
* Assist with project variations and cost tracking
Daily Duties
* Reviewing drawings and specifications
* Measuring and pricing new enquiries
* Updating cost databases and supplier pricing
* Communicating with customers and suppliers
* Preparing tenders and quotations
* Attending site visits when required
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience in the joinery or woodworking industry
* Minimum 2 years' experience in estimating, surveying or similar role
* Strong understanding of timber products and related materials
* Commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Confident communicating with customers and project teams
* Able to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
* Full clean driving licence required
