Purpose of the Role:To support the Quality Manager and ensure all products supplied to customers meet specification, food safety, and legal requirements, while aligning with commercial and operational priorities.This role also provides ongoing support to the Technical Team and manages the daily activities of the Operations Quality Team.
Collaboration with key departments-including Technical, Operations, Sales, and Procurement-is essential to proactively address issues and drive positive outcomes. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:To provide day to day management of the QA team to ensure quality standards are met.
To provide support, coaching and upskilling for the QA team To ensure that all quality procedures are adhered to.
To implement training programmes e.g.
Product Knowledge; Quality Systems To communicate effectively with QA Manager/ Technical Managers To liaise with internal business contacts on any issues pertaining to intake, storage, online production and despatch Quality Standards and their consistent achievement.
To conduct daily handovers between shifts ensuring appropriate events are escalated and highlighted Conduct team briefings To produce daily, weekly and monthly KPI reports including but not limited to: Daily Walk Arounds, reporting and follow up To ensure best practice to achieve customer QSL and DSL.
Take action to resolve any Quality issues arising.
Stock Returns/ Rotations/ Allocations To conduct compliance checks ensuring adherence to the quality system within QA/Production areas. Managing team performance and addressing issues arising Any other duties / tasks as outlined by your manager. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Responsible for the day-to-day management of the QA operation Promote the achievement of customer QSL and DSL Responsible of 100% compliance of QA Records/ QA procedures Responsible of managing internal audits and support in closing out non-conformances Any other KPI as outlined by your Manager Key Skills & Knowledge Essential: Ability to work in a busy environment meeting time/budget deadlines and attention to details. Timely decision making for quality issues and operational challenges. Strong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively Good understanding of requirements of major multiples and technical standards e.g.
BRC, HACCP etc.Inspires and engages the team to consistently achieve quality objectives and maintain high standards.Flexibility to work a range of shifts Education & Qualifications: Qualification (or sufficient relevant experience) in quality, food or agriculture 2-3 years of experience in a technical or quality role within the food or fresh produce sector.Recruitment Process 1.
