What is the opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for a domain expert in Test Automation to join our Lean Central Group Test Centre for Enablement (TC4E) team.
We are responsible for defining enterprise test frameworks and providing technical SME support to test teams across the Bank of Ireland.
The successful candidate will play a key role in continuously improving Enterprise Automation Frameworks across various domains by demonstrating industry-leading tools and trends.
You will coach new automation teams on frameworks and resolve technical challenges faced by federated test teams.
In this role you will: Define and implement test automation frameworks (e.g., Cucumber, UFT, PYTest). Establish automation approaches across business units, following Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid models. Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines. Serve as the point of contact for automation solutions within the bank. Design automation solutions for leading technologies. Ensure adherence to the bank's automation strategy, standards, and tools, and seek continuous improvements. Track key performance metrics for automated testing projects. Provide guidance, training, and mentoring on test automation. Drive technological execution of automation solutions roadmap. Evaluate and select appropriate test automation tools for different needs. Collaborate with DevOps teams to deploy automation tests as part of the CI/CD process. Assess new technology options and predict trends to develop future strategies. Build strong relationships with IT and business teams. Conduct POCs and cases during project initiation phases. What will make you stand out? You should have a minimum of 10+ years of experience in automation test delivery, with strong knowledge of test automation services, and experience working in Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps environments.
Proactivity, independence, multitasking ability, and experience working with outsourced IT suppliers and design partners are essential.
Further Technical Skills Required: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Java, Python, Perl, PowerShell, Groovy, Shell scripts, or Bash. Experience with automation tools like Selenium WebDriver, UFT, and understanding of GUI, database, and web service automation. Experience with test effort estimations. Knowledge of MAVEN, GIT, XML, and JSON. Familiarity with CI tools like Jenkins, Hudson, or TeamCity. Strong IT skills, including experience with information security, integrated platforms, and infrastructure. Essential Qualifications There are no minimum educational requirements for this role.
