The role involves mentoring junior staff, so effective communication skills are essential.About the roleWith support from senior colleagues, initial duties and responsibilities will include:• Supervision of mineral resource drilling programmes and geological core logging• Planning procurement and management of ground investigations and preparation of factual and interpretative reports • Undertaking routine quarry inspections, aggregate sampling and sample management• Generating and manging geological / geotechnical databases;• Petrographic analyses and preparation of technical reports• Reviewing, interpreting and reporting the results of routine aggregate analysis; and• Preparing geological Conceptual Site Models.The position will involve regular site work which may involve working on sites away from home for short periods.It is desirable that applicants have some experience of using CAD or GIS software.About you:Candidates should be able to demonstrate:• BSc Geology (or related subject) and formal academic training in Earth Science• Experience of core logging and sampling would be useful• An effective communicator, both verbally and within written reports• Familiarity with CAD, ArcGIS, MapInfo or QGIS would be advantageous• A full driving licence valid in Ireland/the EUAbout usSLR are global leaders in environmental and advisory solutions helping our clients achieve their sustainability goals.
