Job Overview
The role of a Structural Design Lead is to drive the operational and commercial performance of the structural team, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
Responsibilities
* Drive the operational and commercial performance of the structural team
* Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, supporting their technical development
* Ensure high-quality design deliverables across all projects
* Coordinate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and external consultants
* Manage team resources, delegate tasks, and track project budgets
* Collaborate with other sectors and disciplines across the business on multi-disciplinary projects
* Support recruitment efforts as the team continues to grow
* Build and maintain strong client relationships
* Contribute to business development, including tenders and bid submissions
Requirements
* Relevant third-level degree in engineering (Level 8 or higher)
* Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent
* At least 15 years' experience in structural engineering, with a strong technical background
* Strong commercial awareness
* Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Leadership, management, and coaching abilities
* Professional/technical knowledge and skills
