Main Purpose of Role

The Site Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the project progresses safely, efficiently, and within time while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Health, Safety, and Environmental Management: Establish and promote best practices in health, safety, and environmental management in alignment with company and project standards.
* Site Safety Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular site safety audits, inspections, and toolbox talks to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
* Setting Out Works: Provide support with setting out works and ensure the use of correct and accurate methods and techniques.
* Quality Checks: Perform quality checks in line with company procedures and project requirements.
* Daily Site Diaries: Complete and maintain accurate daily site diaries, including recording subcontractor attendance, variations, and issues discussed with clients or the project team.
* Supervision and Mentorship: Supervise and provide mentorship to graduate and junior engineers on-site.
* Effective Communication: Ensure effective communication between site teams, supervisors, and other departments to ensure clear understanding of project requirements.
* Temporary Works Designs: Support the senior engineering team with temporary works designs, risk assessments, and method statements.
* Materials and Plant Requisition: Assist with the selection and requisition of materials and plant required for the project.
* Inspection and Test Plans: Support with the completion of inspection and test plans as per project specifications.
* Commercial Implications: Keep the commercial team informed of any issues that may have contractual or commercial implications.
* Project Team Development: Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the project team through training and performance feedback.
* Clients and Stakeholders: Maintain good relationships with clients, designers, and subcontractors, ensuring open communication and addressing concerns promptly.
* Project Progress Reports: Provide reports and updates to senior management on project progress, risks, and issues.

Qualifications & Skills

* Experience: At least 3 years of proven experience in civil engineering, particularly in wastewater treatment or water infrastructure projects.
* Competence: Competent in the use of setting out equipment (e.g., Total Station).
* Surveying and CAD Techniques: Experience with surveying and CAD techniques.
* Civil Engineering Legislation: Knowledge of current civil engineering, health & safety, and environmental legislation.
* Communication: Ability to communicate confidently with clients, the project team, and stakeholders at all levels.
* CSCS Card: CSCS Card (or equivalent).
* Engineering Degree: A relevant engineering degree (Civil Engineering or related field).
* Wastewater Treatment Processes: Knowledge or experience in wastewater treatment processes.
* Large-Scale Infrastructure Projects: Previous experience with large-scale infrastructure projects in a similar setting.
* Organisational and Time Management Skills: Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
