PMO Operations Manager Newbridge (Open to public competition) The Operations Manager in the PMO plays a central role in the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of renewable energy infrastructure projects, including wind (onshore and offshore), solar, flextech, peatland rehabilitation and public good projects. This role is responsible for managing the operational functions of the Project Management Office (PMO), including governance and oversight of projects, process standardisation and organisation capability development. The Operations Manager - PMO works closely with the Head of Project Management and PMO Program Managers to ensure consistent project governance and transparency across large-scale programs. The successful candidate will lead a team of project support personnel, manage the implementation of project controls, and will play a key role in maturing project delivery practices in line with industry standards. The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following: Develop and implement project delivery frameworks, processes, and governance structures that support scalable and efficient execution of major infrastructure projects. Drive continuous improvement and consistent project governance across the portfolio. Define and embed project management methodologies, templates, and standards tailored for a diverse portfolio of energy infrastructure projects, peatland rehabilitation and public good projects. Support the Program and Project Managers during the full lifecycle of the project portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to scope. Provide regular reports and performance dashboards to executive stakeholders and governance boards. Implement and enforce robust governance frameworks, risk management practices, and reporting processes that align with corporate policies. Working with cross-function managers, manage and optimise resource allocation across multiple projects, balancing internal and external resources and priorisation of strategic projects. Forecast future capacity requirements and recommend adjustments to meet delivery demands. Act as a liaison between the PMO, project teams, and key internal and external stakeholders. Ensure clear communication and aligned expectations across the energy portfolio. Lead a team of project analysts, coordinators and support personnel, providing day-to-day guidance, workload prioritisation, and performance management. Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment that supports efficient and effective project delivery. Champion the development of project management skills and maturity across the organisation. Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to individuals and teams, and lead initiatives to build a consistent, high-quality project delivery culture. Manage and deliver cross-functional business projects that arise from time to time, ensuring they are scoped, resourced, and executed effectively in alignment with organisational priorities. The Person: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes: Minimum 10 years project management experience, with at least 5 in a senior PMO or project management role within the energy or infrastructure sectors. Proven track record of managing large-scale renewable energy or infrastructure projects across planning, development, and execution phase. Familiarity with regulatory, grid, and planning frameworks relevant to energy infrastructure in Ireland. Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills with a strategic mindset and ability to work across multidisciplinary team Professional project management certification (e.g. PMP or equivalent) is desirable. In depth knowledge of project management principles and systems to deliver large-scale energy projects using a lean outsourced project management structure.
