The Part-Time Bookkeeper is responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration of the company. The role supports the effective operation of the finance function by ensuring that all financial records are maintained accurately, updated in a timely manner, and prepared to an appropriate standard for review by management and external accountants.
This is a hands-on role involving routine bookkeeping duties, with additional responsibilities as required to support the efficient operation of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage debtors and creditors on an ongoing basis
* Reconcile supplier and customer invoices
* Process supplier payments accurately and in a timely manner
* Chase outstanding monies owed to the company in a professional manner
* Complete regular bank reconciliations
* Prepare weekly sales reports for management review
* Assist with budgeting and basic financial monitoring
* Maintain organised and accurate financial records
* Work in conjunction with external accountants, providing information and support as required
* Carry out ad hoc administrative or finance-related duties as needed
Skills and Experience Required
* Previous experience in a bookkeeping or accounts role
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Experience using accounting software and spreadsheets
* Good organisational and time management skills
* Ability to work independently and manage priorities
* Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
* Fluent English
* A knowledge of Xero Accounting software
