Job PurposeDelivering and collection of plant machinery, powered access hire equipment to customers using a Heavy Goods Vehicle in a safe, professional, and timely manner.O'Flaherty Holdings is one of Ireland's largest family business groups. Through AER Rents the Group has continued to expand in the hire market in the UK and Ireland with the subsequent acquisitions of DHS Complete Hire, Mainline Group, Welfare 4 Hire, Chippindale Plant and Hudson Lifting.Key skills & DutiesOversee the safe loading of the vehicle/trailer and ensure the load is distributed and secured correctly.Ensure the loaded equipment is correct against the customer's order and is loaded within the maximum weight allowances of the vehicle.Follow collection/delivery instructions as per the information on the syrinx system.Undertake product familiarization for customersDeliver the customer's order in a timely and safe manner with respect for the customer's property.Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the Rules of the Road - highway code, tachograph legislation and driver hours limits.Carry out daily checks and report any defects to the responsible person in the correct manner.Continually monitor vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and complete defect reports where required.To follow the company rules and directives as set out in the Employee handbooksQualifications & ExperienceHold a Full ROI Driving license.Hold the correct category entitlement (Category C/CE)Hold Current Valid Driver CPCHold a current valid Digital Tachograph Driver Card.Range of vehicles, including 32Ton Rigid, Artic with low loader, 11Ton Rigid and other delivery trucks.Person specification Calm and professional at all times. Able to work on own initiative. Drive vehicles in a safe, considerate and professional manner. Strong organisational skills. Experience with GPS Navigation, mapping, and route planning. Ability to carry out basic tasks on a computer or handheld device. Strong attention to detail Competent in operating Digital Tachograph Competent in managing own Drivers Hours and Working Time records. Able to operate plant equipment (training will be provided) Behaves respectfully to everyone and treats people appropriately. Actively promotes and demonstrates health and safety.
