Job Description
This role supports the running of the GFC and Chromatography laboratory through the use of LIMS, ensuring accurate and timely sample registration and preparation. You will work closely with the registration team and with both in‑house and subcontracted laboratory teams to meet deadlines, manage subcontracted work, and maintain high service standards.
Shift Patterns (39 hours per week, 1‑year fixed term contract)
07:45 – 16:15 Monday to Thursday, 07:45 – 15:15 Friday
09:00 – 17:30 Monday to Thursday, 09:00 – 16:30 Friday
11:30 – 20:00 Monday to Thursday, 11:30 – 19:00 Friday
Responsibilities
Support sample preparation and shipment to internal and external laboratories, including completion of customs paperwork.
Maintain and manage stability sample storage under correct conditions.
Prioritise customer samples based on urgency and specific client requirements as necessary.
Receive, sort and accurately register customer samples into the LIMS system, ensuring all information is complete and submitted on time.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with partner labs (both internal and external) to ensure seamless workflow and service delivery.
Collaborate with internal departments to identify and implement continuous improvements in service efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
Perform general administrative duties such as photocopying, data entry and document handling as needed.
Manage sample‑related queries, proactively resolving missing or incomplete information with relevant stakeholders and effective follow‑up communication.
Respond to or direct customer enquiries, providing accurate information to ensure a high level of service and customer satisfaction.
Support the sales and customer services team in administration and planning.
Adhere to all Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures, supporting compliance with ISO 17025 through adherence to internal quality processes.
Always comply with Eurofins Health & Safety policies.
Qualifications
Interest in science, food, quality or laboratory work – formal qualifications are welcome but not essential.
Willingness to learn and take part in ongoing training and professional development.
Experience in a laboratory, production, quality or technical environment is helpful, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Good computer skills, including data entry and MS Office (especially Excel), and similar systems.
Good communication skills, attention to detail and confidence with numbers.
Motivated, enthusiastic and professional team player.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow processes consistently.
