Role Purpose The Regional EHS Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) operations across multiple large-scale projects and business units, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, corporate policies, and client requirements. This role provides strategic leadership, expert guidance, and operational oversight, ensuring that EHS Leads, Senior EHS Advisors, and EHS Advisors are effectively implementing EHS programs across all assigned projects. Working under the Senior EHS Manager, the Regional EHS Manager ensures that risk management, compliance strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives are embedded in daily operations. With a broad scope of responsibility, this role plays a critical part in shaping safety culture, standardising EHS practices, and driving high performance across multiple teams and locations. This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, as well as the ability to balance high-level strategy with operational execution. The role may involve travel between project sites to support ongoing and recurring work, ensuring EHS objectives are met effectively. Key Responsibilities: EHS Leadership & Compliance Provide strategic direction and oversight for EHS operations across multiple large projects and business units. Lead and mentor EHS Leads, Senior EHS Advisors, and EHS Advisors, ensuring consistent application of EHS standards and policies. Champion the Zero Harm program, driving continuous engagement at all levels of the organisation. Ensure compliance with company Safety Statement, risk assessments, and all relevant regulatory frameworks. Serve as the key escalation point for high-risk safety issues, providing expert advice and intervention when required. Oversee the implementation and alignment of EHS initiatives, ensuring standardisation across projects. Audits, Inspections & Risk Management Lead and coordinate EHS audits, inspections, and compliance assessments, ensuring best practices are upheld. Oversee the incident reporting and investigation process, ensuring that root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented effectively. Drive continuous improvement in risk management strategies, ensuring proactive hazard identification and mitigation. Ensure that contractor safety compliance is maintained, overseeing competency approvals and performance evaluations. EHS Documentation & Reporting Ensure project-specific EHS Plans, Inductions, and Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) are developed, maintained, and implemented effectively. Oversee site safety files (Series 500 & 600) to ensure compliance with legislation and corporate policies. Review and analyse Monthly KPI Reports, consolidating key data on site visits, SEORs, behavioral safety trends, and compliance metrics. Ensure consistent reporting and performance tracking across business units to drive data-driven decision-making. Stakeholder & Contractor Management Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, main contractors, statutory authorities, and supply chain partners. Represent the organisation in high-level EHS discussions and project coordination meetings. Provide senior-level guidance on risk mitigation strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate safety objectives. Oversee the EHS Incentive Scheme, promoting engagement in proactive safety behaviours. Training and Competency Development Identify training needs across business units, ensuring all personnel meet competency requirements. Oversee the delivery of EHS training programs, safety briefings, and toolbox talks. Drive a culture of learning and development, supporting the professional growth of EHS teams. Lead knowledge-sharing initiatives, ensuring best practices are standardised and continuously improved. Emergency Preparedness & Compliance Enforcement Ensure robust emergency preparedness measures are in place, overseeing the availability and maintenance of First Aid provisions, PPE compliance, and site emergency response protocols. Conduct regular assessments of emergency procedures, ensuring all personnel are trained and prepared to respond effectively. Lead post-incident reviews to evaluate emergency response effectiveness and implement improvements where necessary. Necessary requirement of the Regional EHS Manager Degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, CSP, CIH) preferred. Minimum of 5- years of progressive experience in EHS management, with significant experience in the electrical and mechanical engineering or construction industry. Strong understanding of international EHS regulations, standards, and best practices, with specific knowledge of Irish, UK, and European Union directives and requirements. Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate teams across multiple geographic locations. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus, influence stakeholders, and drive change. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement corporate and strategic EHS initiatives that deliver measurable results and contribute to organisational objectives. Proficiency in EHS management systems, data analysis tools, and software applications. Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support EHS initiatives and project sites. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to assess complex issues, evaluate options, and make sound decisions.
