Role OverviewWe are seeking a Junior Business Analystwith hands-on experience working with the Revenue Commissioners (Ireland)to support business and technical initiatives across enterprise-scale tax and revenue systems.The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and delivery partnersto analyse requirements, support system enhancements, and ensure alignment with Revenue policies, processes, and regulatory standards.This role suits a detail-oriented analyst who understands government environments, structured delivery models, and public-sector governance.Key ResponsibilitiesGather, analyse, and document business and functional requirementsfor Revenue-related systems and initiativesWork closely with Revenue stakeholders, SMEs, and delivery teams to clarify requirements and business rulesTranslate business needs into clear documentationsuch as:Business Requirement Documents (BRDs)Functional SpecificationsUse Cases & Process FlowsSupport impact analysisfor system changes and regulatory updatesAssist in UAT planning and execution, including test scenarios, test cases, and defect trackingParticipate in workshops, walkthroughs, and stakeholder meetingsSupport change management, release planning, and post-implementation reviewsEnsure all deliverables align with Revenue governance, compliance, and data protection standardsMaintain documentation repositories and ensure version control and audit readinessMandatory Skills & Experience Previous Revenue Commissioners (Ireland)project experience (mandatory) 2–4 years' experience in a Business Analyst or Junior BA role Strong understanding of Revenue processes, public sector delivery, or tax-related systems Experience gathering and documenting requirements in government or regulated environments Familiarity with Waterfall, Agile, or Hybrid delivery models Experience supporting UAT and business testing activities Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skillsDesirable SkillsExperience working on tax, customs, compliance, or government IT systemsKnowledge of data flows, system integrations, and reportingExperience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, or similarExposure to data protection, GDPR, and public sector governance frameworksUnderstanding of change management and release processesEducationBachelor's degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, or a related disciplineRelevant BA or public-sector certifications are a plusKey CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and structured thinkingAbility to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersComfortable working in regulated, process-driven environmentsProactive, organised, and delivery-focused mindset
