My client, a Galway City-based lifescience business, seeks to hire a qualified Accountant with 0-5 years PQE to join their team as a General Ledger Accountant. You will be responsible for preparing monthly financial reports, annual financial statements, and other internal or external reports. This is a permanent role, on a hybrid basis, with 4 days in the office and 1 day remote, reporting to the Finance Manager. It's an excellent opportunity for someone recently qualified looking to transition into a multi-national industry environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of monthly financial reports, including analysis of Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss.
2. Preparation and review of Statutory Financial Statements.
3. Liaising with external auditors for periodic and year-end reviews for local statutory audits.
4. Collaborating with Tax Specialists and Advisors to ensure compliance with external reporting requirements such as VAT, Corporation tax, CSO, etc.
5. Assisting with SOX Compliance and Reporting.
6. Preparation, analysis, and posting of journals at month end.
7. Preparation and analysis of balance sheet reconciliations at month end.
8. Ensuring compliance with corporate policies and accounting standards.
9. Enhancing existing processes and developing new ones for efficiency.
Requirements:
1. Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong technical skills.
2. Third Level Degree or equivalent.
3. 0-5 years relevant experience, preferably with Shared Service Centre and multinational background.
4. SAP/Oracle or other ERP experience is desirable.
5. Strong communication skills.
6. Effective team player with initiative.
7. Strong MS Office skills.
