Staff Grade Physiotherapist
(Permanent, Full Time)
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality clinical care across the hospital under the direction of the Physiotherapy Manager and Senior Physiotherapists. The areas of service are: Orthopaedics inpatients, Medical Respiratory, ICU, Cardiac Surgery, Older Person rehabilitation, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Emergency Department and Musculoskeletal/Orthopaedic outpatient clinics.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Demonstrate sufficient clinical knowledge and evidence-based experience to carry out the duties and responsibilities required in the areas outlined above.
* Work with the Physiotherapy Manager and colleagues to ensure the delivery of care that is client centred.
* Display effective communication and interpersonal skills with other healthcare professionals, patients and families.
* Demonstrate ability to plan and deliver patient centred care in an effective, resourceful efficient and dignified manner.
* Be responsible for client assessment, development and implementation of individualised treatment plans that are in line with best practice.
* Work within your own scope of professional competence in line with principles of best practice, professional conduct and clinical governance.
* To work to the standards/guidelines and policies as developed by the Mater Private Network and in line with Joint Commission International (JCI) and HIQA
* Operate within the scope of practice of CORU and the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists or equivalent governing body.
* Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development (CPD) and contribute to it as part of the Physiotherapy Team.
* The working hours will be as directed by the Physiotherapy Manager – evening and weekend cover is required as part of this role. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate flexibility as and when required to allow the delivery of an effective and efficient service.
Requirements
* BSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification.
* Have CORU registration and be a member or eligible for membership of the Irish Society of Physiotherapists (ISCP)
* Post graduate experience in Orthopaedics Inpatient is desirable. Experience in Cardiac Surgery/ICU and care of the aging patient is desirable but not essential.
