Quality Engineer - Welding
Our client is looking for a Welding Engineer to join their Quality Department. This role will report directly to the Quality Manager.
The successful candidate will be required to attain and maintain an appropriate standard of independent certification to ensure competency for the role of Welding Engineer. The current certification minimum requirement is European Welding Technologist (EWT/IWT) as defined by the requirements of ISO14731.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage day-to-day production operations to achieve output, quality, and delivery targets.
Ensure efficient utilisation of labour, materials, and equipment resources.
Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions where required.
Drive a strong culture of safety, quality, and operational compliance across manufacturing activities.
Lead, coach, and develop production teams to drive engagement and high performance.
Manage workforce planning, scheduling, and performance management activities.
Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment focused on continuous improvement.
Act as a change agent, leading operational and organisational improvement initiatives.
Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and process optimisation activities to improve efficiency and productivity.
Identify operational inefficiencies and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Establish and monitor KPIs to track operational performance and improvement initiatives.
Analyse production data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
Ideally a qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
Certification as a European Welding Technologist (EWT/IWT).
Relevant experience in all aspects of steel fabrication.
Experience in a quality development role.
Willingness to travel.
