We are looking for an enthusiastic Electrical Estimator to join our growing estimating team in Cork.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates, including labour, materials, plant, and subcontractor packages.
Review technical drawings, project specifications, and tender documentation to ensure accurate cost assessment.
Maintain and update project files, drawings, reports, and cost databases with accuracy and consistency.
Support the tender process by coordinating quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Work with senior estimators to benchmark costs, develop pricing strategies, and improve estimating models.
Contribute to project risk assessments and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Participate in post-tender analysis and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills & Competencies
Strong organizational and document management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel essential); exposure to estimating or project management software an advantage.
Excellent analytical and numerical abilities.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Collaborative team player with a proactive and professional approach.
Qualifications & Experience
Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Quantity Surveying (MEP focus), or related field.
Work placement, internship, or relevant industry experience preferred but not essential.
Familiarity with tendering procedures and construction contracts is advantageous.
