Trinity College Dublin- an introduction Post Summary The Department of Philosophy, within the School of Social Sciences and Philosophy, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Philosophy (Value Theory), to commence on 3 August ****.
This a tenure-track appointment of five year's duration, with a view to permanency.
The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality research, teaching, and academic leadership within the Department and School.
They will be expected to teach and supervise students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, foster an engaging and intellectually stimulating learning environment, and participate actively in interdisciplinary curriculum development.
Candidates should have an established reputation for research excellence in Value Theory, broadly understood to include – but not limited too – Normative Ethics, Applied Ethics, Meta-Ethics, Aesthetics, Philosophy of Art, Normative Epistemology, Social and Political Philosophy, or Philosophy of Law.
Additional teaching competence in at least one of Non-Western Philosophy or Feminist Philosophy is strongly desirable.
The post holder will also contribute to the academic administration of the Department and School, including committee participation, quality assurance processes, and other governance and service activities that support the effective functioning of the academic community.
