Recently Qualified Accountant - Financial Controls Location: South Dublin / Hybrid Our client, a global business operating in a regulated environment, is seeking a recently qualified accountant to join their expanding finance team. This role reports to the Head of Finance Operations and offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their career in financial governance, controls, and compliance. The position would suit someone detail-oriented and collaborative, with an interest in improving financial processes and ensuring strong control frameworks are in place. You'll support the development and monitoring of financial and operational controls across the business, working closely with internal teams and external auditors. This is a varied and hands-on role with great exposure across finance, risk, IT, and regulatory functions. Your Role Collaborate with finance, actuarial, risk, and IT teams to strengthen controls and systems Document, test, and enhance financial and operational controls Assist in the preparation of regulatory returns and internal compliance reviews Track and report operational and financial risk incidents and key risk metrics Contribute to risk assessments and propose improvements to control design Support external and internal audit processes with documentation and responses Develop and deliver training programmes for finance staff on governance and controls Draft and maintain policies related to finance governance and compliance Stay informed on changes to regulatory requirements impacting the finance function Carry out ad hoc finance projects and duties as required Your Skills Recently qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Experience or exposure to financial controls, audit, or compliance frameworks Understanding of regulated environments (insurance or financial services preferred) Comfortable working across departments and managing multiple deadlines Advanced Microsoft Office user; experience with Power BI or reporting tools a plus Strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills If this opportunity is of interest to you, please send your CV to Aoife Davis at Abrivia.
