The Weddings Events Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of weddings and events, ensuring an exceptional guest experience from initial enquiry through to event completion.
This is a client-facing, hands-on role combining event management, sales, and team leadership.
This role is central to delivering the premium wedding experience that hotels like Salthill Hotel are known for-combining sales, coordination, and on-the-day execution to create seamless and memorable events.
Act as the primary point of contact for wedding couples and event clients Plan and coordinate all aspects of weddings events, from enquiry to post-event follow-up Develop detailed event schedules, function sheets, and timelines Ensure all events are delivered to the highest standards of service and presentation Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown Schedule and conduct site tours and consultations with prospective clients Generate quotations for prospective weddings/events and timely follow ups Up-sell products and services throughout all event process to maximise revenue Manage a portfolio of existing clients to encourage repeat and new business Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings Identify new business opportunities and follow up new sales leads to secure the success of the business To follow up on any sales leads received in-house or from other sources and provide a detailed follow up in sales enquiry tracker whether converted or lost Key focus on growing the corporate business in both room and event segment Nurture and develop existing accounts ensuring the hotel is maximizing business from each account Follow up on lost accounts and feedback information Develop area coverage where sales are lacking Increase overall sales volumes and number of accounts Arrange monthly production account review calls with top Corporate clients Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners Upsell packages, menus, and additional services to maximise revenue Manage contracts, deposits, and billing accuracy Schedule and attend weekly function and sales meetings Liaise with internal departments (kitchen, bar, accommodation, operations) Communicate event details clearly across all teams Ensure all logistics (menus, layouts, AV, decor) are organised and delivered Troubleshoot issues during events to ensure seamless execution Manage event budgets and ensure cost control Maintain accurate event records and CRM systems Monitor performance metrics and contribute to revenue targets Collect and review client feedback to improve services Additional duties as required.
