Our client, a leading renewable energy business, is recruiting for a Grants & Project Accountant to join its finance team. This is a permanent role whereby the successful candidate will provide reporting on the financial performance of renewable energy projects. There will be a cross-divisional element to this role in working closely with the Finance Ops Manager and GL Project Manager on relevant systems improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily general ledger operations to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies
* Manage the preparation and review of monthly management accounts and annual budgets, ensuring they align with organisational goals and financial strategies
* Responsible for managing all aspects of grant administration, including tracking grants, preparing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial and grant specific guideline
* Lead the preparation, validation, and submission of grant claims to funding bodies in accordance with contract terms and deadlines
* Monitor grant income recognition and ensure correct treatment in line with accounting standards and funding agreements
* Provide monthly project financial reports to project managers and relevant stakeholders
Key Skills
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) with experience in project accounting, grant finance or similar. Renewables experience is desirable, but not a pre-requisite
* Strong knowledge of project-based accounting principles and grant compliance requirements
* Proficiency with ERP systems, particularly Oracle and Oracle BI, along with Power BI for data analysis and reporting. Strong Excel skills are required.
