About the Role - Procurement Specialist
Callaghan Electrical is currently recruiting for an experienced Procurement Specialist to manage end-to-end purchasing operations across all major projects. This includes supporting our operations, stronger supplier partnerships, and the delivery of high-quality, on-schedule projects.
The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced electrical services company and will have a keen eye for detail. The role will be mainly office based with some site visits as required. The Procurement Specialist, with support from the extended Callaghan Electrical team, will play a key role in the development and rollout of the following:
Role & Responsibilities
* Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
* Reviews and process purchase orders
* Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
* Build and maintain relationships with vendors.
* Select prospective suppliers and negotiates contracts
* Evaluate suppliers based on quality, timeliness and price.
* Schedule deliveries and ensure timely fulfilment of orders.
* Researches and evaluates suppliers to compare pricing and services.
* Coordinates with project managers to monitor inventory and determine supply needs.
* Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
* Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise.
* Knowledge of IT Platforms and Digital Systems
* Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
* Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
* Liaise with site management and quantity surveyors on material requirements.
* Reporting relevant performance metrics specific to projects to management on a weekly basis.
* Stays current with purchasing technology trends and oversees purchase and implementation, as necessary
* Perform other administrative duties to the specified standard and within the time frame required by the Senior Leadership Team.

* Developing and maintaining project specific reports in line with Key Performance Indicators and maintain constructive and collaborative relationships within the organisation.
* Experience from working withing within the Electrical and/or Construction industry is advantageous but not essential.
