It also offers a range of educational diplomas and courses for learners in the wider healthcare sector.Position:Role: Research ManagerDuration: Specific Purpose Contract covering maternity leaveReporting to: Manager, Quality Enhancement DepartmentSalary: €77,000 - €87,000 DOEClosing date: 20 January 2026 at 17:00Leadership and Team ManagementProvide strategic leadership and direct line management to departmental staff, fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, ethical research practice and continuous improvement.Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews, delegate effectively, and support staff development.Stakeholder Engagement and CollaborationRepresent the department in cross-functional initiatives and collaborative research projects, both internally and externally.Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, Medical Training Bodies, the Medical Council, the Forum and the NDTP.Prepare structured reports and presentations for senior leadership, Council, and external partners.Strategic Planning and ImplementationCollaboratively lead the strategic direction of the research in RCPI, aligning departmental goals with RCPI's broader mission.To personally deliver and support the team in delivering a programme of research projects aligned to the RCPI strategy.Lead the development and review of policies and systems to support research governance and enhancing research project delivery to a high standard.Identify opportunities for innovation, improvement, and research opportunity, driving strategic change and long-term impact.
