Position Summary
This position is responsible to meet the goals and objectives of the organization by leading and directing the product development and technical team in developing and executing product development strategies, programs and material science identification / implementation action plans to deliver sustainable and profitable growth.

· Lead identification & assessment of new materials / technology, be proactive in filing Intellectual Property protection when possible
· Ensure product development activities align with existing manufacturing capabilities; when necessary, lead the justification of capital acquisition to support product development strategies
· Understand, communicate, and define actions to enhance product portfolio profitability (product simplification, product development, process improvement)
· Support marketing leadership with new product development project justification and launch process by collaborating with marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, marketing communications and leadership to drive externally focused innovation.
· Work closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Customers and Material Sourcing to support product innovation, cost reduction initiatives and customer complaints.
· Lead the team to design, control and analyze changes to current products caused by materials, processes and/or procedures; document and publish results. · Reporting of activities
· Lead, direct, develop and manage team including setting priorities, goals and performance metrics
· Manage projects to optimize use of resources in organization
· Collaborate with quality, EH&S, product stewardship to maintain compliance with global regulations
· Ongoing technical engagement with our current and potential customers to increase collaboration efforts improving customer success, sales and engagement
· All other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Education and Experience
· Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in chemical engineering.
· 5+ years' work experience, with significant experience in a material science, product development and people management.
· Proven talent for leading teams local and remote
· Expertise with wide range of polymers, lamination practices, project management and product commercialization.
· Solid working knowledge of development processes and related manufacturing.
· Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, Teams, and Outlook.
· Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.
· Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.
· Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.
· Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
