Field Service Engineer Role


We are looking for a dedicated engineer to contribute to our Life Science service team across the Republic of Ireland, with a focus on Dublin and Southern Ireland.


Our service team is at the forefront of our business, responsible for routine servicing, testing and repairing of life science equipment in facilities throughout the UK and Ireland.


This is a field-based role where you will have the opportunity to utilise your technical knowledge and skills to ensure the smooth operation of machines in the field, representing the business and building relationships with customers and colleagues to deliver exceptional service.


The ideal candidate will have a background and relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering. Comprehensive training on our equipment will be provided by our dedicated in-house training team.



Key Responsibilities



* Cultivate a positive rapport with the customer, demonstrating first class interpersonal skills in a courteous and professional manner at all times.

* Carry out mechanical and electrical servicing of equipment.

* Perform routine testing of our equipment to the relevant standards as stated in terms and conditions of the client's contract.

* Identify and rectify electrical/mechanical faults in equipment.

* Calibrate equipment as necessary.

* Manage spare parts inventory levels.

* Produce high-quality documentation for submission to the customer.

* Maintain regular communication with the internal Service Department.

* Ensure company equipment is used and maintained correctly, reporting any faulty or out-of-calibration equipment to the Service Supervisor.

* Follow correct returns and non-conformance report procedures.

* Organise and prioritise workload to ensure timely response to customer calls and enquiries.

* Ensure safe and tidy working practices, adhering to site-specific requirements.

* Problem-solve using initiative and a logical approach.

* Provide sales leads to the Service/Sales Manager.

* Participate in out-of-hours standby cover, on a rota basis, to accommodate customer needs.

* Prepare written/electronic reports as required/requested.

* Submit accurate expense claim forms with supporting documentation, within specified timeframes.

* Remain in regular telephone contact with the office and line supervisor.

* Assist team members as needed.

* Perform additional duties as requested.
