FUNCTION:
Perform testing in the Microbiology Laboratory
REPORTING TO:
Senior microbiologist
LOCATION:
Nenagh
PURPOSE:
Microbiological testing of samples
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:
Collecting samples from the Production plants.
Performing timely analytical testing in Microbiology Laboratory.
Ensuring that all documentation is completed correctly to the approved procedures.
Identifying and highlighting any issues to the appropriate manager. Following through with issues to achieve a resolution.
Participating in and providing support to investigation and project teams. Assisting in the resolution of quality problems as required.
To assist in the upkeep and maintenance of internal and external standards (e.g. BRC, HACCP).
High level of laboratory housekeeping.
Comply with health and safety requirements.
Support of other laboratories if required, i.e., to undertake other duties as required in line with business needs.
Managing Shelf-life samples.
Managing samples for external testing as required.
Daily updates of LIMS and EXCEL trackers. Daily summary of results and issue daily reports to the operations team highlighting any issues or out of specification results.
Training of Students
QUALIFICATION
Minimum Diploma in Microbiology or equivalent discipline.
Experience in a microbiology laboratory is an advantage.
