The Role:
We are seeking a Sales and Operations Associate to join our growing team based at our branch located in Tralee, Co. Kerry.
This hands-on role involves gaining experience in all aspects of a typical busy builders merchanting branch.
Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the main requirements of the role are as follows:
* Serving customers in the shop and answering phones as needed.
* Building strong working relationships with customers to understand their requirements.
* Maintaining a well-merchandised store area.
* Updating point-of-sale pricing and product promotion campaigns.
* Assisting with cycle counting and stock taking.
* Liaising with Warehouse and Yard staff to fulfill incoming orders.
* Dealing with other requests to support the operation as needed.
* Following company policies and procedures from an operational and health and safety perspective.
The successful candidate will also gain experience using modern IT and ERP systems and receive training from experienced local branch personnel and group management.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales:
* Serving customers in the shop.
* Answering phones as needed.
Operations:
* Maintaining a well-merchandised store area.
* Updating point-of-sale pricing and product promotion campaigns.
Customer Service:
* Building strong working relationships with customers.
* Understanding customer requirements.
Retail:
* Assisting with cycle counting and stock taking.
* Liaising with Warehouse and Yard staff.
Knowledge & Experience Required:
A good knowledge of DIY products and building materials.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A positive can-do attitude.
Computer literacy.
At least 3-4 years experience working in retail is desirable.
A trade qualification and good understanding of the construction & building materials sector would be an advantage.
Forklift license would be a distinct advantage.
