Role Overview
AEI are actively seeking a motivated and technically capable Solar PV Engineer to join our commercial team.
The position would be based in Dublin.
As a Solar PV Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of solar PV projects for commercial clients, ensuring systems are designed, installed, commissioned, and maintained to the highest industry standards. This role calls for someone with a technical understanding of solar PV systems, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a focus on quality.
Responsibilities
* Support the commercial team by providing electrical engineering input to system designs.
* Size cables, switchgear and cable runs based on project needs and provide these details to the operations team.
* Produce and maintain construction and as-built drawings using CAD software
* Conduct post sales site visits, preconstruction surveys and technical analysis of solar PV projects.
* Ensure system designs and installations comply with Irish electrical regulations and evolving solar PV standards.
* Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders, contractors and clients to ensure safety, compliance and clarity across project stages.
* Stay up to date with changes in regulations and technical requirements related to solar PV systems in Ireland.
What We Are Looking For
* Communication Skills: Strong ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders
* Qualifications: Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar field
* Experience: 2+ years of experience with a leading electrical contractor or through a recognized graduate program
* Technical Proficiency: Proficient in CAD for electrical layouts and documentation
* Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of MV/LV distribution systems, DC/AC systems, and solar PV standards
* Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Irish electrical regulations for renewable energy and a commitment to health & safety
* Language Skills: Advanced English proficiency (written & spoken)
* Site Assessment: Comfortable conducting technical site assessments
* Renewable Energy Interest: Strong interest in renewable energy and regulatory compliance
* Time Management & Organization: Excellent skills in prioritizing tasks and staying organized
* Team Collaboration: Collaborative team player with a results-driven approach
* Full Driving License
