DescriptionReporting to the Group Reporting Mgr with a dotted line to the Group Financial Controller, key responsibilities will involve the preparation of the various internal and external reporting requirements for the daa group various stakeholders, both internal and external including consolidated management accounts, statutory financial statements, sustainability reporting and ad hoc CFO lead finance projectsResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting: Production, preparation and reporting of consolidated monthly management results and preparation of various financial reports and analysis for the Executive and the Senior Leadership Team. Ensure a timely and accurate month-end close process, while maintaining a strong financial control environment. Primary preparer of the Group's consolidation, financial statements, supporting schedules and various other key deliverables for the half-year and annual statutory reporting. Acts as the main point of contact for the Group's external audit process and liaison with audit team members. Assist in the production of the Annual Report with external designers and assist the Group Reporting Manager with internal co-ordination. This includes staying abreast of best practice in this space and working with internal departments to ensure that required content is produced in a timely and appropriate format for inclusion where required.Undertaking technical accounting research, drafting memos and providing advice to decision makers on financial reporting and accounting implications of various items.Assist in the management and financial accounting analysis of the Groups costs for various Business Units, including posting journals.Develop use and knowledge of accounting and reporting systems to drive efficiencies and process improvements in monthly / Group reporting processes.Accounting for upcoming changes to FRS102IFRS transition for our financing vehicleAssist with developing data and reporting frameworks for future ESG reporting.Business Analysis: Support the budgeting, forecasting and planning processes for various business units. Deliver accurate and timely performance insights to support decision making. Analyse and interrogate month-end results for inclusion in Group financial reports. Automation & EfficiencyLead automation and reporting enhancements using tools such a Power BI and Power Query. Key Contributor in the project planning and delivery of Oracle FusionOther responsibilities:Ah Hoc Projects in Treasury (Raising of debt)Project Anabelle and Project Douglas WorkBuild strong relationships with controllers and the SSC reporting team to strengthen reporting processes.Provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship to the Trainee Accountant, supporting their professional development. Assist with ad-hoc projects and continuous improvement efforts led by the Group Reporting Manager. QualificationsExperienceQualified ACA/ACCA accountant with a Big 4 training background or equivalent.5 years post qualification experience in a plc with exposure to month-end reporting, audit management and group SkillsStrong academic track record and solid technical accounting knowledge with hands on experience in FRS 102 and IFRS. Ability to interpret and apply accounting standards to real business scenarios. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex financial and accounting concepts to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and problem solve in a fast-paced environment. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Oracle or similar ERP system is an advantage. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and clarity.
