About the role:
Flogas is seeking a commercially minded Senior Finance Manager to lead the day‑to‑day finance reporting, operations and performance insight. This role will take ownership of month‑end, lead and coach the finance team, act as the primary point of contact for audit, ensure ongoing tax compliance and robust financial controls.
The Senior Finance Manager will also play a key role in standardising and improving finance processes and enhancing the quality of business insight and decision support.
This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role, focused on execution, improvement, and building a strong, modern finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & MonthEnd Ownership
Lead and oversee the month‑end close process, ensuring accurate, timely, and well‑controlled financial reporting
Review management accounts and supporting analysis before submission to finance leadership
Ensure balance sheet integrity, including ownership of reconciliations and issue resolution
Drive continuous improvement in month‑end processes, timelines, and quality
Audit, Governance & Tax
Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing the audit process end‑to‑end
Prepare audit deliverables and coordinate responses across the finance team and wider business
Ensure strong financial controls are embedded and operating effectively
Oversee tax compliance requirements (e.g. corporation tax, VAT, other relevant taxes), coordinating with advisors where required
Support Finance Leadership on governance, policy adherence, and control improvements
Commercial Insight & Business Support
Deliver high‑quality financial analysis and insight to support operational and commercial decision‑making
Develop and improve KPI reporting and management information for senior stakeholders
Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance management processes
Work closely with business leaders to improve understanding of financial performance and drivers
Process Improvement, Standardisation & Systems
Lead initiatives to standardise finance processes across the business
Reduce manual effort and improve efficiency through automation and better use of systems
Enhance reporting and analytics capability, including use of BI tools (e.g. Power BI)
Promote consistent ways of working, documentation, and best practice across finance
People Leadership & Team Development
Lead, coach, and develop the existing finance team
Set clear objectives, expectations, and development plans for team members
Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is an experienced finance manager who combines strong technical foundations with a practical, improvement‑focused mindset.
You will bring:
Strong experience running month‑end and management reporting in a complex environment
Experience leading and developing finance teams
Solid understanding of audit processes and tax compliance
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful insight
Experience improving processes, controls, and ways of working
Confidence working with senior stakeholders both within finance and the wider business
