Marketing Manager (Maternity Cover)
Established in 1992, Applegreen is a leading convenience roadside retailer in the Republic of Ireland, the UK and the US in both large-scale Motorway Service Areas and Travel Plazas, as well as smaller petrol stations. The business has grown to over €3BN in annual revenue, operating 600 Motorway Service Plazas and forecourt sites internationally and employing over 17,000 people. Applegreen is seeking a Marketing Manager for a 9-month fixed-term maternity cover to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our marketing strategy. This is a high-impact role where you'll work closely with senior leadership, manage cross-functional relationships, and drive campaigns that deliver real commercial value.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement marketing strategies aligned with business goals.
* Own stakeholder relationships and lead communications with the Senior Leadership Team.
* Deliver a calendar of marketing campaigns in collaboration with the Brand Manager.
* Ensure campaign messaging is consistent, timely, and aligned with strategic objectives.
* Manage campaign budgets and ensure delivery within financial targets.
* Lead research initiatives, including annual brand tracking and customer segmentation.
* Support the Head of Marketing with budget oversight and team leadership.
* Manage and mentor marketing team members, including hiring support and performance development.
* Support with the relationship management of Applegreen's Brand Partners.
* Represent the marketing team in cross-functional groups (HR, Ops, Trading, Food).
* Lead on organisation of company-wide events such as the conferences, awards nights and our Christmas Party.
The Candidate Should Have The Following
Qualifications, experience & skills
* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in Marketing management or marketing, preferably in the retail or FMCG sector.
* Strong understanding of marketing strategy and marketing principles.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* Proficiency in marketing software and tools.
* Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Proven experience in marketing strategy and campaign management.
* Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
* Budget management experience and a commercial mindset.
* Ability to work collaboratively across departments and lead cross-functional initiatives.
* Full Irish Driving Licence
