Senior Project Engineer – Dublin, Ireland
A senior project engineer will lead the design and delivery of complex transportation infrastructure projects across roads, rail, public transport, greenways, and enabling works in Ireland.
Your Role & Responsibilities
Deliver and coordinate design packages on large infrastructure programmes.
Manage and lead diverse major infrastructure projects.
Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards and are managed within time and budget.
Work within multidisciplinary teams, reviewing outputs from other disciplines.
Work directly with clients, local authorities and stakeholders, guiding them through technical challenges.
Support and coach junior engineers, fostering continuous learning.
Lead project teams and oversee documentation, technical reports, and design submissions in line with Irish and European standards.
Serve as primary contact for clients, contractors and stakeholders, building strong relationships.
Develop planning applications, tender documentation, and construction supervision activities.
Conduct site inspections, surveys and assessments to inform design and construction.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
Plan resources, programme management and risk mitigation strategies.
Champions innovation, sustainability and digital delivery across projects.

Qualifications
Irish National Framework Qualification Level 8 (Honours Degree) or higher in Civil Engineering or related discipline; equivalent International Degree for non‑Irish candidates.
Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline; Chartered Engineer status (or working toward) highly desirable.
3‑5 years relevant experience in design and delivery of major roads, public transport, light rail, rail or enabling works projects (or equivalent water, energy or utilities).
Proven track record of leading project teams and delivering projects to programme and budget.
Strong knowledge of Irish and European design standards, planning processes, statutory requirements.
Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports, drawings, specifications and tender documents.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced dynamic environment.
Other desirable experience / Qualifications
Project Management Qualifications (e.g., PMP).
Construction Manager Qualifications (e.g., CCM).
NEC3/4 ECC Supervision Accreditation.
Chartership or nearing chartership in a relevant professional body.
OSHA Safety Certification.
