Accounts & Compliance Assistant
We are recruiting an
Accounts & Compliance Assistant
for a well-established, medium-sized
accountancy practice
. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working across multiple client files, supporting year-end accounts, and ensuring full regulatory compliance.
This role is central to the preparation, verification, and collation of financial data for
year-end procedures and outsourcing to external partners
, while maintaining high standards of
accuracy, organisation, and compliance
.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts & Outsourcing Support
* Check opening balances on client accounting software
* Ensure bank reconciliations are completed and accurate
* Verify trade debtors and creditors listings against trial balances
* Collate supporting documentation including bank statements, creditor statements, HP/lease agreements, insurance backups, and fixed asset invoices
* Retrieve charges and payments from
ROS (Revenue Online Service)
Year-End & Accounting Support
* Assist with preparation of
month-end and year-end journals
, including accruals, prepayments, and basic depreciation entries (under supervision)
* Support year-end close processes and accountant reviews
Compliance & Regulatory
* Complete and maintain
Client Risk Assessments (CRAs)
(roll-forward existing files and draft for new clients)
* Collect and verify
KYC documentation
(ID, utility bills, etc.)
* Maintain accurate and compliant client records in line with regulatory requirements
Drafting & Documentation
* Prepare draft year-end pack documents including:
* Minutes
* Letters of Representation
* Letters of Engagement
* Loan agreements
* Draft information request letters to clients
Bank Loans & General Administration
* Collate information for bank loan applications
* Prepare tax affairs letters and turnover confirmation letters
* Manage correspondence related to financial and compliance matters
What We're Looking For
* 1–3 years' experience
in a
Professional Accounting Practice
(preferred, but strong junior candidates with the right attitude will be considered)
* Solid
bookkeeping knowledge
;
IATI qualified or part-qualified
in a professional accounting qualification is highly desirable
* Experience managing
multiple client files
and understanding statutory requirements in practice
* Proficiency with
Xero, Sage, QuickBooks
, and familiarity with
Irish ROS
* Excellent organisational skills with
strong attention to detail
* A proactive, reliable, and solution-focused approach to deadlines and workload
* Strong willingness to learn and develop professionally
