Graduate Mechanical Estimator Dublin We are recruiting for a leading mechanical and MEP contractor in Dublin seeking a motivated Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join their commercial team as an Estimator.
This is a premier entry-level role responsible for supporting the tendering process for high-value projects across the pharmaceutical, data centre, and commercial sectors.
The successful candidate will join a high-performing pre-construction team, benefiting from a structured mentorship program designed to build expertise in mechanical cost management and project bidding.
Core Responsibilities Working under the guidance of the Senior Estimating team, you will assist in the following: Tendering Support: Assist in the preparation and submission of mechanical tenders, ensuring all technical documentation and commercial forms are completed accurately.
Take-offs & Measurement: Conduct detailed take-offs from 2D drawings and 3D Revit models using specialist software (e.g., Trimble, Bluebeam, or Cubit).
Cost Analysis: Support the development of cost estimates for plant, materials, and direct labour, ensuring all vendor quotes are analyzed against project specifications.
Procurement Liaison: Assist in obtaining competitive quotes from suppliers and specialist sub-contractors, performing technical comparisons to ensure quality and compliance.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with the Design and Engineering teams to understand project scopes and identify potential value-engineering opportunities.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of tender submissions, supplier databases, and historical cost data to support future bidding activities.
Candidate Profile Education: A Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related technical discipline.
Experience: 02 years of experience (recent graduates with relevant internship experience or a strong final year project in mechanical services are highly encouraged to apply).
Technical Skills: High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a strong academic foundation in technical drawing interpretation (CAD/BIM).
Knowledge: A keen interest in the commercial side of engineering, specifically HVAC systems and industrial piping.
Attributes: Meticulous attention to detail, strong numerical ability, and an eagerness to learn the commercial intricacies of the MEP sector.
Compensation Salary Range: €35,000 €45,000 per annum (Negotiable based on academic record and placement experience).
