Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Fleet & Transport Operations Management
Manage the daily transport operations for construction projects.
Allocate routes and schedules for drivers based on project requirements.
Coordinate transportation of workers, materials, tools, and equipment to sites.
Monitor vehicle movement and ensure efficient utilization of fleet resources.
Ensure timely dispatch and delivery to project locations.
2. Driver Supervision & Coordination
Supervise and manage all company drivers and transport staff.
Prepare driver duty rosters and route assignments.
Monitor driver attendance, punctuality, and performance.
Conduct driver briefings regarding safety and operational procedures.
Handle driver-related issues, disciplinary matters, and incident reporting.
3. Route Planning & Scheduling
Plan efficient transport routes to minimize fuel consumption and delays.
Adjust schedules according to project timelines and urgent site requirements.
Coordinate with project managers/site supervisors on transportation needs.
Monitor traffic conditions and optimize delivery schedules.
4. Vehicle Maintenance & Compliance
Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained and serviced regularly.
Coordinate preventive maintenance and repair schedules.
Maintain records of servicing, inspections, insurance, road tax, and permits.
Ensure fleet complies with local transport and safety regulations.
5. Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Enforce company transport safety policies and procedures.
Ensure drivers follow road safety regulations and company SOPs.
Investigate transport incidents, accidents, or breakdowns.
Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments.
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
6. Cost Control & Reporting
Monitor fuel usage, transport costs, tolls, and vehicle expenses.
Prepare transport operation reports and performance analysis.
Recommend cost-saving initiatives and operational improvements.
Manage transport budgets and vendor/service provider coordination.
7. Communication & Coordination
Liaise with site teams, procurement, logistics suppliers, and management.
Respond quickly to operational issues and emergency transport requests.
Provide updates on vehicle status, delays, and transport availability
