Location: Letterkenny/Donegal (Project-based)/Omagh, Co. Tyrone (50/50 split)
Contract: Permanent Role
AndersonMcQue is partnering with a well-established civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Advisor for a windfarm near Letterkenny. 50% of the time may be spent in the HQ of the company in Omagh, Co. Tyrone.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic project team and take ownership of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) compliance across large-scale civil engineering works.
The Role
Reporting to the Project/ Contracts Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for
overseeing and maintaining high SHEQ standardson site, ensuringfull compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and ISO standards.
Key Responsibilities
Review, update and communicate all Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality policiesand procedures
Conduct regular safetyaudits, site inspections and investigations, ensuringongoing compliance
Prepare, reviewand maintain MethodStatements and Risk Assessments
Investigate accidents and near misses, implementing corrective and preventative actions
Deliver site inductions to employees, contractors and visitors
Plan and coordinate SHEQ-related training
Maintain SHEQ documentation and administrative records
Support the development and maintenance of the SHEQ Management System in line with:
ISO45001:2018
ISO14001:2015
ISO9001:2015
Requirements
NEBOSH Occupational Health & Safety qualification (held for a minimum of 2 years)
Environmental and/orQuality qualifications are advantageous
Practical experience implementing ISO 45001/ 18001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similarSHEQ or Health& Safety role
Experience in substations or underground transmission works is beneficial but not essential
Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
Confident IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
Full, valid driving licence
