We are seeking an experienced focused Head of SAP to lead the strategic direction, delivery, support, and optimisation of the organisation’s SAP landscape. This role will oversee SAP programmes, architecture, governance, vendor management, and internal capability across multiple business functions.
The successful candidate will combine strong SAP leadership experience with stakeholder management, transformation delivery, and operational excellence to ensure SAP platforms support long-term business growth and innovation.
Responsibilities
Define and execute the organisation’s SAP roadmap aligned to business objectives.
Lead SAP transformation initiatives including migrations, upgrades, S/4HANA programmes, and process optimisation.
Provide strategic guidance on SAP architecture, integration, scalability, and future capability.
Build and lead high-performing SAP teams across functional, technical, delivery, and support disciplines.
Programme & Delivery Management
Oversee end-to-end SAP programme delivery across multiple workstreams.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
Manage SAP implementation partners, consultancies, and third-party vendors.
Drive governance, risk management, and compliance across SAP initiatives.
Operational Excellence
Own SAP service delivery, support models, SLAs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure system performance, resilience, security, and regulatory compliance.
Lead incident escalation and major issue resolution where required.
Drive automation and process efficiency initiatives across the SAP estate.
Mentor and develop SAP managers, consultants, analysts, and technical teams.
Foster a collaborative and delivery-focused culture.
Support recruitment, workforce planning, and capability development strategies.
Required Experience
Proven experience leading large-scale SAP programmes and teams.
Strong knowledge of SAP ecosystems including SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA.
Experience managing complex enterprise landscapes and integrations.
Strong commercial awareness and budget management capability.
Experience engaging with senior executives and business stakeholders.
Vendor and third-party management experience essential.
