Job Brief
We are seeking energetic, practical, and people-focused individuals to join our team as
Visitor Experience Hosts
at Mount Congreve Gardens. This is not a desk job. It's a
physical, outdoor, hands-on role
where you'll spend much of your day moving around the estate, preparing accommodation, supporting events, and helping visitors make the most of their stay.
If you enjoy working outdoors, thrive in a busy environment, and like the idea of a role that combines hospitality, customer service, and practical tasks (similar to working on a campsite or holiday park), this could be the perfect fit.
Your responsibilities will include everything from welcoming day visitors and overnight guests, cleaning and maintaining guest facilities (including hot tubs), handling reservations and payments, and assisting across front-of-house and accommodation operations including setting up event spaces,.
This is a
seven-day rostered role
that requires flexibility, teamwork, and a can-do attitude.
Responsibilities
* Welcome visitors, overnight guests, and group tours with warmth and professionalism.
* Operate guest check-in and check-out for our lodges, cabins, and glamping.
* Deliver welcome packs and amenities to accommodation using the estate buggy.
* Carry out practical tasks including preparing hot tubs, setting up spaces for events, restocking supplies, and ensuring accommodation is ready for arrival.
* Support front-of-house operations including ticketing, and events.
* Provide information about the gardens, exhibitions, and other local attractions.
* Handle cash and card transactions securely and accurately.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all guest areas, including toilets and shared spaces.
* Assist with event set-up and breakdown.
* Deal with guest queries and complaints in a professional and solution-focused manner.
* Actively promote memberships, gift cards, and events to visitors.
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous experience in
hotels, holiday parks, or visitor attractions
is highly desirable.
* Strong customer service skills and a genuine passion for working with people.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* A practical, can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in.
* Experience or interest in horticulture is an advantage but not essential.
This is a
physically active role
that involves:
* Moving between different areas of the estate (often outdoors and in all weather conditions).
* Preparing and maintaining accommodation, including hot tub cleaning.
* Being on your feet and engaging with guests for most of the shift.
* Carrying supplies, cleaning equipment, and assisting with set-ups.
