NHS Highland is the largest NHS Board in Scotland by geographical area, serving approximately 10,500 employees across acute, community, and residential care settings throughout the Highlands.
Our SEQOHS-accredited Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service (OHWS) is a clinically led, multidisciplinary team of occupational health nurses, physicians, physiotherapists, and psychological therapists, delivering services to NHS Highland staff, independent contractors, and commissioned external clients.
Position
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Specialist Nurse Practitioner for the role of Service Manager, reporting directly to the Clinical Director of Occupational Health Services. This post carries responsibility for professional nursing leadership, clinical governance, and operational management of the OH nursing function, alongside a retained clinical caseload of complex management and self-referral assessments. You will lead SEQOHS quality assurance, SLA and KPI performance, and staff management and development, and will represent the service at key governance committees including Health & Safety, Infection Control, and Staff Governance.
You will be a subject matter expert of the Board's Health and Safety Committee, contributing to the Health and Wellbeing Strategy and broader staff health and service improvement programmes.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold current NMC registration, a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Health Nursing or equivalent specialist qualification, and a minimum of five years' post-qualification OH experience with demonstrable management and leadership capability. A valid UK driving licence is essential given the geographic scope of the role.

Additional Information For Candidates

Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro‑rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains affected.
