Risk Management Officer – High-Growth Fintech

Gresham Hunt are delighted to have partnered with a rapidly expanding fintech who are in the process of building out their European presence. Over the past few years, they've experienced exponential growth leading to this carefully constructed plan to enter the European market and expand their offering to a wider customer base.
Coming as the next round of their top-down build there is a strong leadership team in place who are now seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Finance Manager to join the function. In this role you will work closely as a number two to the CRO, learning in a scaling business who have the architecture and support of a UK headquartered team. This is a hybrid role based in Central Dublin with 3 days on site.
Responsibilities:
* Play an active role in strengthening the firm's risk culture and embedding the enterprise risk management framework throughout business operations.
* Provide guidance, challenge, and insight to senior management and business teams in identifying, assessing, and mitigating key risks.
* Support the development of a robust governance environment, promoting consistency and best practice in risk management processes.
* Assist in coordinating the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process across teams, ensuring risks and controls are reviewed and updated regularly.
* Maintain oversight of risk incident reporting, perform root cause analysis, and recommend actions to prevent recurrence.
* Prepare and deliver risk reporting and presentations to management committees and other governance forums.
* Monitor and analyse Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), collaborating with stakeholders to review thresholds and refine metrics as part of periodic reviews.
* Keep abreast of regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging risks, suggesting enhancements to current frameworks or policies.
* Work with business units to evaluate the potential impact of new regulations and emerging risk themes on operations.
* Support the maintenance of core risk documentation, including risk registers, framework documents, recovery and resolution plans, and related policies.
* Assist the risk function in following up on audit findings and action plans.
* Liaise with internal and external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders on risk-related matters.
Skills & Experience
* A minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in a quantitative, legal, financial, or related discipline.
* 1–2 years of experience in a risk or regulatory role within financial services (such as investment firms, brokers, asset managers, or consultancy).
* Working knowledge of risk management principles, ideally including areas such as capital adequacy, stress testing, or regulatory exposure.
* Demonstrated interest in financial markets and regulation.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities with attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at multiple levels.
* A proactive team player who can manage competing priorities and escalate issues appropriately.
* High levels of integrity, sound judgment, and accountability.
