Project Engineer Cork Talent Curve Recruitment is managing a search for a Project Engineer to join a leading engineering and technical services contractor in Cork. This is a private mandate with a highly respected firm delivering capital projects and system upgrades for major players in the Pharmaceutical, Chemical, and Food & Beverage sectors across Munster. This permanent, site/office-based role is ideal for a proactive engineer who thrives in a project-driven environment and wants to lead technical packages from design through to commissioning. Core Responsibilities Project Delivery: Coordinate the technical execution of engineering projects, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and to client specifications. Technical Review: Review process designs, mechanical layouts, P&IDs, and equipment specifications, ensuring alignment with design intent and safety standards. Site Coordination: Liaise between design consultants, fabrication workshops, and site teams to resolve spatial clashes and manage sub-contractor progress. Quality & Validation: Oversee QA/QC inspections, coordinate testing (including FAT/SAT, pressure testing, and loop checks), and compile validation documentation (IQ/OQ). Procurement Support: Assist with material take-offs, develop equipment specifications, and manage technical submittals for specialist vendors. HSE Compliance: Champion site safety by ensuring all engineering activities adhere strictly to site-specific safety plans and RAMS. Candidate Profile Education: Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, or Building Services Engineering (Level 7 or 8). Experience: 36 years of experience in a project engineering or project coordination role within a contracting or manufacturing environment. Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and mechanical schematics. Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD/Revit) is a distinct advantage. Attributes: A methodical problem-solver with excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills. Logistics: Full, clean Irish driving licence. Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: €55,000 €70,000 per annum (Negotiable based on depth of sector experience).
