Role Overview:
A leading residential developer is seeking an experienced Document Controller to support a major construction project in Balbriggan. This is a site-based role responsible for managing all project documentation throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, version control, and compliance with internal procedures and statutory requirements.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a construction or engineering environment and be comfortable supporting site teams, consultants, and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the full document control process for construction activities on site.
* Receive, log, distribute, and archive drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, reports, and correspondence.
* Maintain strict version control, revision tracking, and document approval workflows.
* Ensure all project documentation is correctly issued and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
* Administer documentation through project document management systems (e.g. Aconex, Procore, Asite, Viewpoint, or similar).
* Maintain accurate document registers, trackers, and issue logs.
* Liaise with design consultants, subcontractors, and site management to ensure timely issuance of drawings and technical information.
* Ensure site teams are always working from the latest approved documentation.
* Track RFIs, technical queries, and design changes in coordination with the project team.
* Assist with QA documentation, inspection records, and handover documentation.
* Support BC(A)R documentation requirements and project close-out records.
* Ensure document control processes comply with internal quality systems and statutory requirements.
* Produce reports on document status, outstanding approvals, and information flow.
* Provide general administrative support to the site and project teams as required.
Candidate Requirements
Experience
* Previous experience as a Document Controller or Project Administrator within a construction or engineering environment (residential or apartment projects preferred).
* Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and document workflows.
Skills
* Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Experience using document management platforms (training can be provided where required).
* Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders.
