Role Purpose
The Cleaning Manager is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation across the food production facility. This role involves leading and training the cleaning team, actively participating in cleaning activities, and monitoring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Training
Develop and deliver training programs for cleaning staff on hygiene standards, cleaning procedures, and safe use of chemicals.
Maintain training records and ensure all staff are competent in cleaning practices.
Operational Cleaning Duties
Participate in daily and deep cleaning activities as required, ensuring compliance with SOPs and hygiene schedules.
Oversee cleaning of production areas, equipment, and ancillary spaces to meet regulatory and audit standards (e.g., HACCP, BRC).
Monitoring & Compliance
Conduct regular inspections and audits of cleaning activities, documenting findings and corrective actions.
Ensure cleaning records are accurately maintained and available for verification.
Monitor cleaning effectiveness through swab tests, visual checks, and adherence to cleaning schedules.
Health & Safety
Ensure safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH and company policies.
Promote a culture of safety and hygiene throughout the facility.
Continuous Improvement
Review and update cleaning procedures and schedules to improve efficiency and compliance.
Work closely with Quality Assurance and Production teams to address hygiene-related issues.
Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience in a hygiene or cleaning management role within a food manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if required.
Performance Indicators
Compliance with internal and external hygiene audits.
Training completion rates and competency assessments.
Reduction in non-conformances related to hygiene.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: €20.00-€24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
