Our client is a leading international Biotechnology company with a state of the art aseptic manufacturing facility in Dun Laoghaire, South Dublin.
The plant is one of the most dynamic in Ireland and is currently undergoing rapid expansion and capital investment.

Building Services Project Engineer responsible for overseeing the design, coordination, and delivery of building services systems—including air compressors and distribution, cooling tower water and chilled water systems, heatpumps, waste water systems, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP)—for the Facility at the Dun Laoghaire site.
The role involves providing client-side technical input, supporting design development, and ensuring system integration during construction, commissioning, and handover stages.
Provide client-side design coordination across all MEP disciplines within the project.
Liaise with Site SMEs and the Engineering Technical Authority to ensure alignment with standards.
Participate in design reviews, ensuring proper integration between HVAC, electrical, Building Management Systems (BMS) and plumbing systems.
Support the development of MEP design packages, including drawings, URS, and specifications.
Vendor and contractor documentation review and technical submittal review
Oversee building services installation, ensuring quality, compliance, and adherence to design intent.
Coordinate with construction teams and vendors to resolve technical issues in the field.
Provide support during FATs, SATs, commissioning, and qualification activities.
Ensure building services are designed and implemented to meet sustainability and energy efficiency targets.
Contribute to project scheduling, cost control, and change management discussions.
Monitor safety and regulatory compliance for all building services-related works.
Requirements
Degree-level qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
Professional registration or chartered status preferred but not required.
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in building services design, construction, and commissioning in the life sciences sector.
Comprehensive understanding of MEP systems within GMP and regulated facilities.
Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and lead design reviews.
Strong working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (IS, EN, CIBSE, ASHRAE).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Contract role - Hourly rate €60 - €70 per hour
Minimum 12 month contract with the possibility of an extension.
These are projects that are going to run over for about the next two years.
Onsite Expectations: While we can be flexible with some onsite expectations, the project is now entering the construction phase, which means the role will increasingly require onsite presence.
Consequently, we need candidates who are willing and able to work onsite five days a week, as needed.
